Latest Poll Indicates Possible Run-Off

It’s pretty simple. If no candidate is able to get more than 40% on September 15th, then there’s a run-off between the top two finishers. And if recent polls are any indiciation, it looks like there may be a run-off in the race for NYC Public Advocate.

A recent Quinnipiac poll shows Mark Green with just 38% of the vote. Bill de Blasio is second with 14% of the vote. Norman Siegel and Eric Gioia each have 8%.

Norman’s issue is clearly name recognition. 19% of those surveyed have a favorable opinion of him. Just 6% have an unfavorable opinion of him. And a whopping 73% haven’t heard enough about him to form an opinion.

So clearly, the key is getting the word out. A couple ways you can help us do that:

  1. Post a Norman Siegel sign on your car/house/store/family member. If  interested, please call us at 212-481-5423 or e-mail me at
  2. Spread the word about Norman. Talk to your friends. Talk to your neighbors. And tell them about how Norman has spent the past four decades fighting for our civil liberties. And tell them that if elected Public Advocate, Norman will be our guy, fighting our battles, to make our city a better place for every New Yorker.
  3. Donate. It’s going to be hard to get our name out without money. So, please, if you could, donate. It can be as little as a dollar. Whatever you can donate, we appreciate. And a reminder, all donations through Monday are matched 6 to 1. So if you give $20, we get $120. Not bad, right? If interested, click here.
  4. Volunteer. We could always use more volunteers. If interested, please call us at 212-481-5423 or e-mail me at
  5. And if you have any other ideas of how you could help the campaign, please let us know, either by calling 212-481-5423 or by commenting on the blog.
